May half term - SPIES LIKE US An Infinite Jest challenge week
I simply cannot tell you how much fun we had. An infinite amount of fun, laughter, silliness was had by all in Nunhead and Leyton. Noel Skum, the kindest, loveliest, most philanthropic man that has ever drawn breath, is about to become the most popular human being ever by launching himself to Mars. Security the world over has been ramped up and new operatives are in training to ensure the plan goes smoothly.

Jester Crackers, IJ's news anchor, gushingly reports on the countdown to this historic event. Along the way he interviews ace spy, Roger A Lot, who tells us about the training involved. He has an exclusive interview with Noel Skum himself as he oversees, along with his head scientist, Professor Koffendropp, the final preparations.

At the same time reports come in of strange disappearances: a global egg shortage, dirty socks from dirty linen baskets, and sewage. Who, or why, and indeed WHY?, is behind all this? The IJ news team head into the streets to find out more.

Meanwhile, our trainees are visited by Stool Pigeon who claims to be the head of security at Skum Enterprises. She's scared. She says all is not what it appears. She rushes off promising to send more intell leaving behind a picture of a skunk, the blue print of what appears to be a rocket or a bomb, and a riddle that seems to point us to a name, Dandy Lion.

We learn that Dandy Lion is a florist. We question her and discover she's on her way to Brazil, via Staines. The next day we receive a coded message from Stool that leads us to Trafalgar Square where we meet Humphrey Rush, a mime act.

In her rush to get away she leaves behind a remote control and a telephone number. We phone the number and talk to Mark Skid, a formula 1 racing ace.

Who are these people, what do they know, are they involved, and how? Is Skum really a force for good or is he just out for himself. One of the trainees was overheard to say "this has been the best Infinite Jest week ever!" And we couldn't have agreed more!!!

Easter hols - LIGHT An Infinite Jest devising week
A really wonderful week exploring LIGHT. The brilliant John Hinton, artistic director of Ensonglopedia, taught us how to write a song. We discovered amazing facts about light, made lanterns and shadow puppets, and created incredible stories, inspired by Aesop's The North Wind and the Sun.

Feb half term - TWELFTH NIGHT

We had so much fun delving into one of Shakespeare's most brilliant comedies. What a cast of characters - the love lorn Orsino, the pompous Malvolio, the party animal Sir Toby Belch, the enterprising Viola, the passionate Olivia, and so many more. We created our own love song, an amazing Elizabethan/modern jig, spoke Shakespeare's timeless lines, made quill pens, and gorgeous masks, and performed Twelfth Night for our proud family and friends at the end of a very happy week.
